Cincinnati’s Quinton Coats (player) and TCU’s Lance Davis (pitcher/newcomer) garnered the final weekly awards of the 2026 Big 12 baseball season.
Coats padded his school-record home run total (28) with three against Texas Tech in a Bearcats’ series victory. The sophomore from Olathe, Kansas opened the series with a three-run homer in the first inning, followed by a two-run shot in the third. In the rubber match of the series, Coats added another first-inning three-run homer in an 8-7 UC victory. His 28 home runs are tied for the third most nationally, while he has also surpassed the UC total bases single-season record. Coats’ 78 RBIs this season are also within one of the school’s single-season record.
Davis threw a complete-game shutout in the 4-0 Horned Frogs’ win over No. 9 West Virginia. No Mountaineer advanced beyond second base in the game, while the freshman allowed just five total baserunners throughout the outing. Davis struck out six WVU hitters and is now the first TCU pitcher since Charles King in 2019 to have two complete games in a season and is the first Horned Frog with back-to-back complete games since Preston Morrison in 2014.
