Arizona’s Miranda Stoddard (player) and Texas Tech’s NiJaree Canady (pitcher) collected Big 12 softball Player of the Week accolades for their efforts during Week Six of the 2025 softball season.
Stoddard helped the Wildcats secure their first Big 12 league play series sweep over Utah. In the series opener, a home run from the senior scored three runs as she went 2-for-2. Throughout the weekend, she recorded five RBI, three runs and five hits for a .714 batting average. This is her second Player of the Week award this season.
Canady pitched two complete games against Baylor as the Red Raiders took the series in Waco. The Stanford transfer pitched 14.0 innings in the circle where she registered a 0.00 ERA, only allowing 11 hits and one unearned run. She recorded 11 strikeouts during the series finale, bringing her season total to 124 and tying for the third-most tallied in Division I this season. This week’s honor is the first Big 12 accolade for the Topeka, Kansas native.
