Arizona State’s Noemie Glover (offensive), Iowa State’s Rachel Van Gorp (defensive) and Baylor’s Ksenia Rakhmanchik (rookie) were named the Big 12 Volleyball Players of the Week for the third week of Conference play.
Glover led the Sun Devils to two wins over ranked opponents and kept ASU as the only undefeated team in Big 12 play. Against then-No. 24 Colorado and then-No. 16 Baylor, the junior led both contests in kills with 15 against the Bears and 21 against the Buffaloes with a .429 hitting percentage. Her 21 kills against Colorado were the third time this year she surpassed the 20-kill mark and the fourth match in a row reaching double-digit kills. Glover has recorded double-digit kills in all but two matches this season. It is her second Conference award this season.
Van Gorp led the Big 12 in total digs (48) and digs per set (5.33) in the third week of league play. The sophomore libero notched a career-high 30 digs in the Cyclones’ 3-2 road win at Kansas State. She added another 18 digs against then-No. 15 Kansas to extend her double-digit digs streak to 22 matches. Van Gorp also didn’t record a single service or reception error through 40 receptions in the two matches. It is her first Big 12 weekly recognition this season and second of her career after being named the Big 12 Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Oct. 29, 2024.
Rakhmanchik averaged 4.5 kills per set, tied for the ninth-most in the Big 12, for the week as she finished with 27 kills. Her 27 kills led the Bears for the second consecutive week. The freshman also tallied 28 points, seven digs and two blocks across the two matches, as well as a career-high 17 kills at Arizona. It is the first Big 12 weekly accolade of her career, and she is the second Baylor athlete to receive the Rookie of the Week designation this season.
