OU’s Lueking and OSU’s Musau Garner Big 12 OTF Weekly Awards

Oklahoma’s Olivia Lueking (Women’s) and Oklahoma State’s Brian Musau (Men’s) earned Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors. It is the pair's first outdoor career nod while Lueking was awarded Women’s Athlete of the Week during the 2022 indoor season.

Musau is the first freshman Cowboy to garner a weekly award during the outdoor season and the second to earn any Big 12 track and field weekly honor. At the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Machakos, Kenya native won the men’s 5K with a time of 13:13.29. His mark shattered a 12-year-old OSU record and placed him at No. 6 in the NCAA record book.

Lueking won the women’s pole vault on her home turf last weekend as OU hosted the John Jacobs Invitational. The health and exercise science major secured the victory with a season-best 4.45-meter jump (14 feet, 7.25 inches), which sits fourth in the nation this season. Lueking has competed in the event at three meets this season and has claimed first place at each.
