ARIZ & ASU Earn Week 11 Volleyball Honors Following Top 10 Victories

Arizona’s Jordan Wilson (offensive) and Avery Scoggins (rookie) joined Arizona State’s Claire Jeter (defensive) to collect weekly Conference volleyball awards following their efforts during the 11th week of the season.

Wilson led Arizona with a league-leading 6.00 kills per set and a .324 hitting percentage during the week which included a victory over then-No. 8 Kansas. In the win over the Jayhawks, the junior set a career-high with 37 kills, the most by a Big 12 player this season and the second highest by a player in a five-set match nationally this year. The 37 kills also tied for the third most all-time kills in a single match in Wildcat history. Wilson is the first Arizona player to win the league’s Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Jeter tied for the team lead in blocks with seven to help ASU get a win over KU to move the Sun Devils into first place in the league standings. The middle blocker then tied her career high with nine blocks against K-State in a four-set win. The graduate student from Missouri City, Texas has helped Arizona State win 12 matches in a row, the fourth-longest winning streak in team history. She also helped the Sun Devils reach 24 wins so far this season, which are the fourth most in program history. This is Jeter’s first Big 12 weekly honor.

Scoggins earns her third Rookie of the Week title in the last four weeks and her fourth of the season after helping Arizona take down a top-10 Kansas team. The freshman recorded 88 assists and averaged 11.00 assists per set (tied for fifth among league players) during the week while tallying a career-high 61 assists against the Jayhawks, becoming the first Wildcat since 2018 to record 60 or more assists in a match. The setter led Arizona with 20 digs in the KU match, recording her ninth double-double of the season.
