OU and WVU Garner Week 3 ITF Awards

Oklahoma’s BJ Green and West Virginia’s Ceili McCabe collected the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field awards for Week 3 of the 2024 season.

Green bested his 16.11-meter triple jump record he set earlier this month at the Razorback Invitational. Facing nine of the top 10 ranked teams at the meet, the electrical engineer major leaped 16.62 (54’ 6.5”) meters in his fifth attempt to take the gold medal. His jump was the best of the weekend and sits at No. 2 in the NCAA this season while it placed him second on OU’s all-time performance list. Green is the first Sooner to earn a men’s Big 12 Indoor weekly honor since the 2021 season.

McCabe ran the mile in 4:30.24 at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge in a heat that included professional runners. Her time replaced the program-leading record she set last season. The sociology major ranks first in the Big 12 while she holds the nation’s third-best mark in the mile this season. This is the first Big 12 Indoor Track & Field accolade for McCabe.
