Baylor Wins Big 12 WBB Regular Season Title, Seeds Set For Championship
Baylor earned the 2021-22 Big 12 women’s basketball regular season championship, securing the outright title with its win over Texas Tech Sunday. The Bears clinched a share of their 12
th straight Big 12 regular season championship on Monday with a win over Iowa State.
Seeds have been determined for the 2022 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship to be played March 10-13 in Kansas City’s Municipal Auditorium. Baylor enters the championship as the No. 1 seed for the 12
th consecutive season.
Iowa State enters as the No. 2 seed by virtue of a school-record 14 wins in Big 12 play, followed by No. 3 Texas and No. 4 Oklahoma. No. 5 Kansas earned its best seed for the Championship since 2000, and No. 6 Kansas State earned the final bye into the quarterfinals, which take place on March 11.
West Virginia captured the No. 7 seed, followed by No. 8 Texas Tech, No. 9 Oklahoma State and No. 10 TCU. Seeds 7-10 begin their stay in Kansas City on March 10 with two first round games.
