With a 1-0 road win over Texas Tech on Thursday, TCU clinches the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, set to kick off on Sunday, Oct 31 at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas.
The Horned Frogs finished the conference slate with a 7-1-1 record, racking up 22 points and averaging 2.44 points per match. TCU will face No. 8-seed Iowa State which scooped a spot in the tournament with a 1-0 win over K-State. The Cyclones averaged 0.75 points per match over eight conference games. The Horned Frogs and the Cyclones will open the tournament at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Nationally-ranked No. 20 Texas received the No. 2 seed after a 2-0 win against Kansas. The Longhorns finished with a 6-0-3 Big 12 record, tallying up 21 points and averaging 2.33 points per match. Texas will take on No. 7-seeded Oklahoma at 5:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
Baylor received the No. 3 seed with 15 points and a 1.88 average. The Bears will take on No. 6-seed West Virginia at 8:00 p.m.
With an overtime victory over the Mountaineers and a loss from Texas Tech to TCU, No. 4-seeded Oklahoma State will face the No. 5-seeded Red Raiders at 2:00 p.m.
Seeding was determined based on points per match due to the no contest between Iowa State and Oklahoma State on September 30.
